This is a unique section on a Firebird forum, as I have never seen a factory freaks section.

I don't really have any photo's but I guess just to make a list of some car's that I have seen documented to be real combo's.

There was a factory white 70-72 Trans Am with blue stripe and green interior.......what was he thinking?

There was also a 77/78 SE Trans Am with blue interior.....again what were they thinking.

On the PY forums the Pontiac Police were busy ripping this poor guy a new cavity about what a moron he was until he produced full documentation on a factory order Black 70-72 Trans Am.......cool huh? I mean we all know about the 70-72 Trans Am that was custom painted by the factory, red to give to the president of the SCCA. Anything is possible.

Just last month there was an article that was the cover car on HPP magazine about a yellow with red interior 77 Trans Am that was fully documented but according to the books was unavailable in that color combo.

I have seen a couple 74 Trans Am's with no options and a column shift....hmmmm

Anyway, just because it is rare doesn't make it desirable.......I believe if I had come across that early white T/A with green interior, the green would have to go.

Just some thoughts...... Wink

Factory freaks were way more common when people could actually order their own cars. I remember seeing some strange looking color combos come thru our dealership when I was a kid. (many moons ago)

The weirdest color combo I ever saw on a gen2 T/A was at a local gas station as I was filling up my (at the time) Grand Prix. This guy in a Mayan Red 79 pulled up to fill up also and it had (honest to goodness) light blue interior!!!!!!!! Red and blue?!?!?!?! At the time I was certain he'd changed the exterior color, but after seeing/hearing all these stories who knows... maybe it was legit. It was ugly though... that much I can guarantee!!!!!!! Smile

I remember reading that there was a 69 T/A with green interior.

I actually see beauty in the factory freaks, which others would find disgusting. I'm just a freak myself like that!
