Ok some of you already know me and the car, but hey , i thought id pad this out a little and some of you may have never seen it.

My car is a 1980 ( i thought it was an 81 originally ) Firebird.
It started life as a base model Esprit, but by the time i got it, the original 6 pot had gone replaced with a 305 sbc.

Both the car and engine were very tired and after an embarrassing return from a show ( it was smoking so much a fiend thought i was doing a rolling burnout! ) i ripped out the old heart and replaced it with a rebiult 350 sbc.
This has had a few goodies sprinkled in it from arp, cloyes etc and is bored and balanced etc, the heads were treated to a mild flow and all was done by myself.

The bodywork was redone by me in my backgarden, including the primer spray as i didnt have any shelter and it was the only place i could do it.

Parts are hard to come by in the UK and i didnt have the stateside friend as i do now ( Bless you Jeff ) so alot had to be formed by hand.

The car was sprayed in a one off mix of 2 pack pearl and i didnt know that Pontiac had made a similar colour ( the Skybird ).

I love the car, i love V8's and it gives me great pleasure to drive it im proud to be assocaited with these cars and the great frienship that they bring.

Id just like to add, the car used to belong to a friend of mine who is no longer with us, so to Darren heres to you mate!!

i think ive said enough, heres some pics, i love a chat so give us a pm!

mmmm thats a hard one to define..... its going to keep its classic looks but have modern ( but subtle touches ) if you dont know your birds you probably wouldnt spot them.
Joe public wont have a clue!

My ex boss thought it was the car from " Dukes of Hazzrd " says it all doesnt it !!

I see.

Dukes of Hazzard...lol! I could spot General Lee anywhere. Looks nothing near as good as a bird does!

Well, I wish you the best in your project. Can't wait to see it!

No problem.

For me, I'm going back fully to the RedBird edition. You don't see too many color birds now days as people did in the past. I don't want to ruin the last of these models. I want something different. The only modification that I'm going to make is a hood bird in black, orange, and yellow.

Otherwise, just a basic restoration.

Sir English Firebird,
Nice bird! You have my vote for July's Firebird or Trans-Am of the month. Gather up as much pics and videos as you can and send them to me. I am trying to stay a little ahead these days. By doing that, I was able to post the June Firebird or Trans-Am on June 1st. Very Happy
